We left home on Saturday morning, fully laden for 10 days in England. SFO to Heathrow went surprisingly fast, except for the two young children who screamed for eight hours straight on the flight. Sleep wasn’t a huge option as we departed SFO at 1pm and arrived in London the equivalent of 11pm, only it was now Sunday morning at 7am. We flew through a night, though it never got fully dark due to the polar route in the summer time.

Time to head home for most of us. Sarah is staying in England for another week to do genealogy research. She dropped us off at the airport in Newcastle where we caught a flight to Heathrow, then home.

Flying to Wellington is an all day event – we left on Friday night at 7pm, and arrived in Auckland at 5am Sunday morning. Saturday was passed over completely somewhere mid-Pacific Ocean, even though the flight was only about 12 hours.
We had a couple of hours at the Auckland airport to clear customs, check in for our domestic flight, and watch the sun rise.
What? They have Dunkin’ Donuts in New Zealand but not in California!?
