I shot 1,500 pictures on the trip, 233 are used in this blog (15%). I carried a GPS in my backpack and dumped the logs into Lightroom so all my photos are geo-tagged. Processing them was a bear and took a lot of my spare time, but I like to do it.

According to my fitbit we walked 100 miles and climbed 200 floors. We averaged a bit over 7 miles a day with the high day being 14 miles in Berlin and low being the two international flight days of about 2 miles a day each. I burned 36,000 calories and gained two pounds (sausage and beer!). Jason is training for a marathon and went running many mornings. I don’t know how many additional miles he logged, but I do know that he put in 6 miles the morning that we walked 14 in Berlin.

Jason’s iPhone was a huge benefit to have for locating us and food. My Android on Verizon is useless in Europe except as an alarm clock. Paper maps are still awesome.

We left the US with only a few hundred Euro and $50 worth of Czech Koruna. ATMs are everywhere so getting cash was easy. The days of Traveler’s Cheques are long gone.
