We listened to an organ recital for a bit before exploring the rest of the church. <\/p>\n<p>Connected to the church and next to the cloisters is a small building with one of four remaining original copies of the Magna Carta housed within. It is a stunning document to see for its historical significance, its age, and the beauty of the script.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 343px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rosendahl\/4720266380\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Carl&#039;s shadow\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4013\/4720266380_0f4349d512.jpg\" title=\"Carl&#039;s shadow\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shadow play in the cloisters, and one of only a few pieces of photographic evidence that I was on the trip.<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 343px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rosendahl\/4719616561\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Salisbury R&#038;R\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4068\/4719616561_c49f8e498c.jpg\" title=\"Salisbury R&#038;R\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Enjoying the rare sunlight, we napped in front of the Cathedral.<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nAfter nap time on the lawn we ducked into The Wig and Quill pub to watch the qualifying round of the F1 race in Montreal. We grabbed dinner at a nice Italian restaurant down the street and returned to The Wig and Quill to watch England vs. USA in the World Cup. Lucky for us, the game ended in a tie &#8211; we neither got beat up nor humiliated with our new drinking buddies.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rosendahl\/4722845688\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Wig and Quill\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1367\/4722845688_73fb7e712f.jpg\" title=\"The Wig and Quill\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Good beer and a very friendly local crowd (which is important during an England vs. USA World Cup game).<\/p><\/div> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Salisbury Cathedral was a short walk from our hotel.
