This Kodak Junior Six-20 was my father-in-law’s camera (circa the mid 1930’s). I have photographed it before (here).

I just ordered a few rolls of Plus-X Pan film for it. The camera is in great condition – I’m looking forward to shooting with it sometime next week.

This pretty much sums up my impression of Venice Beach (CA) today.

Hey, it’s California and there’s nothing like a BBQ before your kid heads back to college… so out I went. And who knew a silver/black umbrella for the flash could be so handy?

Yes, the spoon is labeled “spoon.” And our knives and forks are labeled, too. This one should really say “big spoon” ’cause that’s the size I use with ice cream. Ben and Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, by the way.

A portrait of one of my buddies. We’ve been through a lot together, so I thought I’d honor him with a glossy 8×10 head shot. The strawberry was a bonus.

This started as an exercise playing with lighting and devolved from there.

One of the last remaining leaves on a Japanese Maple tree in our front yard after the most recent rainstorm went through.

With the heavy storms we’re going through I wanted to catch the rain in action. That was harder than I thought, so I set up in the garage instead.

This is a single drop into a glass bowl, lit from underneath with a flash. I took around 100 shots that I willowed down to this one.
