The plum trees in our yard have been in full bloom for about a week now. The blossoms are small, maybe 3/4″ wide, and have a couple dozen stamens. I tried to focus just on the pollen at the end of the stamens (the ‘anther’).

I was working on another Strobist lighting exercise. The idea is to use one strobe to light the subject, and to create a specular reflection off the wall behind. This is actually one of my test shots, the ‘formal’ ones being a bit too, well, formal.

I usually try not to repeat themes two days in a row for my ‘picture a day’ efforts, especially with my easiest subject – Shane. But this guy was so happy today with an almost empty jar of peanut butter that I needed to spread the joy.
