One of the best photography investments I’ve made. Knowing that what I’m looking at on the screen is accurate gives me a lot more latitude when color correcting and prepping for print.
At the same time it adds pain – when I look at my pictures on other people’s (non-calibrated) monitors they never look as good now.

At some point you just have to say, “No one’s going to finish it.”

I did a little bit of color correction and a minor crop, otherwise as shot in camera. It’s a cheap trick.

Standing by the side of the road, shooting the scenery towards the sun; every time a car would go by I’d feel a disturbance in the force. Turning to see what it was, I witnessed scenes like this.

Playing with lighting again. This time working on how to light glass from the book “Light – Science & Magic.” Chapter 7 lays out this type of setup. I’m not happy with the big highlight on the can, which I might have been able to gobo out, otherwise I like the way it came out.

My friend Samantha works at TCHO, the great new chocolate company at Pier 17 in San Francisco. We got together for lunch today, preceded by an in depth tour of the plant, including an amazing lesson in everything chocolate by Timothy Childs, founder and chocolatier.
The chocolate is still in beta, but you can order it online at www.tcho.com. YUM!
Thank you Samantha, Louis, Tim, Chris, Zohara and team for the great tour!

Taken at a parts yard in LA. There were probably 20 acres of cars just like these slowly being stripped down by anyone with $2 for admission and the exit toll for the parts collected.
