I’m in the process of cataloging a number of things that I have built over the years. This is a desk lamp built from an outdoor walkway light, a piece of pipe and flanges painted black, bolts and rubber feet. I also added a light switch on the bottom of the fixture.
For the photograph, I had to light the lamp very bright to balance out the lightbulb in the middle of the frame.
I’m pretty sure Marvin never saw it coming.
Taking a bright red Lava Lamp away from overblown colors and into “serious looking” black and white seemed fun. This was much harder than it looks. The background is a flashlight shining against the tile backing of our bar. It turned out to make a huge difference getting the tiles to show through the glass.
We’re getting ready for The Bourne Ultimatum by watching the other two Bourne films. Last night was The Bourne Identity, and tonight The Bourne Supremacy. I couldn’t resist the continuing the kicked up feet theme from yesterday. Otherwise, it’s just a snapshot today.
This was my father’s 16mm Bolex camera that all our home movies were shot on. It is also the camera I used to make all my first movies and animations. It’s an important part of my personal history, so I thought it would be nice to do a beauty shot of it.
