Stopped along the side of the road in Sonoma Valley’s Healdsburg to look at the grapes. It was amazing how laden the vines are.

Flatirons Climber
39°59’24.04″N 105°17’31.73″W
Taken from the “east bench” where many climbers begin their ascent of Flatirons 2, one of three beautiful rock formations on the edge of Boulder, CO. This climber (not me!) is planning his route.

August 1, 2007 – Hay, Lady

Hay, Lady
37°24’35.38″N 122° 9’47.43″W
A sculpture by Tom Otterness in the Stanford hills. There are three characters made of hay that are harvesting hay across the field. Each one is probably ten feet tall.

I boosted up the colors in Adobe Lightroom. I usually don’t like really saturated colors, but this shot seemed to lend itself to it.

Lake Time
37°10’48.28″N 121°37’21.95″W
Taking some R&R on Lake Anderson. Looks peaceful considering there were also three teens and a golden retriever on board.

July 12, 2007 – Bay Bridge

Bay Bridge
37°48’43.83″N 122°21’45.85″W
San Francisco Bay Bridge, looking towards Oakland. Heavily processed using Picassa2 to get the high contrast and color palette. I’m only mildly happy with this image.

July 9, 2007 – Holes

Holes
37°38’42.57″N 120°39’32.40″W
Between Modesto and Lake McClure. Reminded me of the book/movie “Holes”. They’re either putting in or taking out an orchard. Just rows and rows of deep holes, and three yellow monsters chomping away.
