Our Canada Trip

(Pretty much all the thumbnail pictures are linked to bigger versions. The big ones range in size from 77k to 200k, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for them to download. I think it's worth the wait, but hey, it's your phone bill. If I think you really should see the bigger image I've also done a text link to it.)

Still in Jasper

And now the wildlife part of our tour. We saw lots of great animals in their native habitat, including the coyote on the left cruising the golf course. The elk was by the side of the road in Banff, so we caused the bus behind us to stop abruptly so we could shoot (a picture of) it. Later we saw a zillion of them hanging out... on the golf course.

The bear here were also along the side of the road in Jasper. They caused what is commonly known locally as a "bearjam." This is where all the traffic comes to a stop for photo ops. The mom bear was leading the two cubs who were happily turning over rocks looking for grubs.

Not surprisingly, Canadian Geese are rampant in Canada. This flock hung out on the lake outside our room. These pictures are worth clicking on to see the bigger version - absolutely beautiful!

A major objective of our travels is to go to the top of everything. Have gondola, will ride. The Jasper Tramway overlooks the entire valley. We hung up there a long time and had lunch. Right about in the middle of the picture of the view (below) is the lake where Jasper Lodge is. It looks kind of like a horseshoe with the open end on the right side. You can see the golf course behind it and also to the right. The lodge is at the far end.

Well, all good things must come to an end. As did our trip, so does this memory of it. A final departing shot of Sarah and Kevin...

Thanks for visiting!
